Job Purpose:
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the tasting room and for all guests & co-workers.
- Educate & Inform customers on beer styles, tasting notes, brewery happenings & events.
- Be an active participant in the culture & community of the brewery.

Duties and responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude while at work.
- Greet & Welcome all visitors to the brewery in a timely manner.
- Create a memorable experience for the guests
- Provide all customers with fair & equal service in an efficient and effective manor.
- Describe beers and brewery history; answer visitors’ questions about beers.
- Assist with display and stocking of retail items and beers
- Assist with hospitality special events as needed.
- Provide general tourist information.
- Represent brewery at outside functions as needed.
Cash Handling/Nightly Reporting
- Accurately handle routine sales transactions which include operating cash register and accounting of daily sales.
Schedule, Training & Education
- Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of brewery and its beers.
- Maintain all training & education requirements as laid our by the manager, and keep up to date on all necessary certifications required.
- Open availability
Cleaning & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness & safety of facilities.
- Assure all guests are 21+ and utilize training to assure no guests are over-served.
Other
- Adhere to all rules & regulations as defined by the local, state & federal laws & regulations, the business, or the Manager
- Communicate with the staff and managers effectively and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Love of Craft Beer
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Cicerone Certified Beer Server or higher, or ability to complete within 90 days of employment
- TiPS certified, or ability to become TiPS certified within 90 days of employment.
- Experience in a brewery tasting room or similar environment.
- 3 or more years customer service experience.
- Basic knowledge of beer and the brewing process.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills.
- Friendly and welcoming personality, critical thinking skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Proficient with technology (familiar with POS systems)
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Working conditions:

Could include, but are not limited to: nights, weekends, and unconventionally long hours, difficult situations with customers, and adverse weather.
Hourly Rate Pay Range:
- $11.79 per hour plus tips
Physical requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop and crouch repeatedly
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by job duties
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
