Job Purpose:

  • Pro­vide excel­lent cus­tomer service.
  • Main­tain clean­li­ness and safe­ty in the tast­ing room and for all guests & co-workers.
  • Edu­cate & Inform cus­tomers on beer styles, tast­ing notes, brew­ery hap­pen­ings & events.
  • Be an active par­tic­i­pant in the cul­ture & com­mu­ni­ty of the brewery.

Duties and responsibilities:

Cus­tomer Service

  • Main­tain a pos­i­tive and friend­ly atti­tude while at work.
  • Greet & Wel­come all vis­i­tors to the brew­ery in a time­ly manner.
  • Cre­ate a mem­o­rable expe­ri­ence for the guests
  • Pro­vide all cus­tomers with fair & equal ser­vice in an effi­cient and effec­tive manor.
  • Describe beers and brew­ery his­to­ry; answer vis­i­tors’ ques­tions about beers.
  • Assist with dis­play and stock­ing of retail items and  beers
  • Assist with hos­pi­tal­i­ty spe­cial events as needed.
  • Pro­vide gen­er­al tourist information.
  • Rep­re­sent brew­ery at out­side func­tions as needed.

Cash Handling/Nightly Reporting

  • Accu­rate­ly han­dle rou­tine sales trans­ac­tions which include oper­at­ing cash reg­is­ter and account­ing of dai­ly sales.

Sched­ule, Train­ing & Education

  • Acquire and main­tain thor­ough knowl­edge of brew­ery and its beers.
  • Main­tain all train­ing & edu­ca­tion require­ments as laid our by the man­ag­er, and keep up to date on all nec­es­sary cer­ti­fi­ca­tions required.

Clean­ing & Safety

  • Main­tain clean­li­ness & safe­ty of facilities.
  • Assure all guests are 21+ and uti­lize train­ing to assure no guests are over-served.


  • Adhere to all rules & reg­u­la­tions as defined by the local, state & fed­er­al laws & reg­u­la­tions, the busi­ness, or the Manager
  • Com­mu­ni­cate with the staff and man­agers effec­tive­ly and efficiently.
  • Per­form oth­er duties as assigned by manager.


  • Love of Craft Beer
  • High School Diplo­ma or Equivalent
  • Cicerone Cer­ti­fied Beer Serv­er or high­er, or abil­i­ty to com­plete with­in 90 days of employment
  • TiPS cer­ti­fied, or abil­i­ty to become TiPS cer­ti­fied with­in 90 days of employment.
  • Expe­ri­ence in a brew­ery tast­ing room or sim­i­lar environment.
  • 3 or more years cus­tomer ser­vice experience.
  • Basic knowl­edge of beer and the brew­ing process.
  • Excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion & pre­sen­ta­tion skills.
  • Friend­ly and wel­com­ing per­son­al­i­ty, crit­i­cal think­ing skills.
  • Com­mit­ment to excel­lence and high standards.
  • Pro­fi­cient with tech­nol­o­gy (famil­iar with POS systems)
  • Strong orga­ni­za­tion­al, prob­lem-solv­ing, and ana­lyt­i­cal skills.
  • Abil­i­ty to man­age pri­or­i­ties and workflow.
  • Ver­sa­til­i­ty, flex­i­bil­i­ty, and a will­ing­ness to work with­in con­stant­ly chang­ing pri­or­i­ties with enthusiasm.
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to cal­cu­late fig­ures and amounts such as dis­counts, inter­est, com­mis­sions, and percentages.
  • Abil­i­ty to under­stand and fol­low writ­ten and ver­bal instructions.

Working conditions:

  • Could include, but are not lim­it­ed to: nights, week­ends, and uncon­ven­tion­al­ly long hours, dif­fi­cult sit­u­a­tions with cus­tomers, and adverse weather.

Hourly Rate Pay Range:

  • $11.40 per hour plus tips

Physical requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop and crouch repeatedly
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extend­ed peri­ods as required by job duties
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a reg­u­lar basis
  • Coor­di­nate mul­ti­ple tasks simultaneously
